Features of the WebSitePulse Monitoring Service
If your business relies on critical web and networked applications, then you need the WebSitePulse state of the art external monitoring solution. When you set up an account at WebSitePulse, you will configure different specific ports to be monitored for each server. Our solution keeps a constant watch over each selected protocol of your server from an end user's perspective.
Service Plan - each Service Plan includes at least one domain for which you monitor multiple types of protocols, each set up individually. Other services charge you every time you add a new protocol to be monitored. We DO NOT. Based on the Service Plan features, you are FREE to add multiple protocols to monitor. Savings over competitors may reach 90%.
Monitoring Interval - how often we check your selected hosts and protocols. Intervals vary from 3 minutes to 24 hours for the protocols check, and from 15 minutes to 2 hours for URL Content Verification.
Web Servers - HTTP and HTTPS (secure) protocols. Monitor the performance and status of your website. Monitor any web resource delivered using Hypertext Transfer Protocol. We collect the same statistics for web pages delivered through a Secure HTTP (HTTPS) server.
URL Content Verification - WebSitePulse will scan your HTTP and HTTPS web pages looking for predefined keywords. Feel confident that your web site and CGI scripts are behaving as expected and that your pages have not been changed or compromised without your knowledge. If you supply a login and password, we'll make certain that your password-protected site is working normally. If you would prefer not to supply the password we can still verify that your site is responding with the appropriate "challenges" but we will not be able to check your website content. You can tell our monitoring agent to check if the file size of the page or its content have been changed since the last time you have modified your URL at WebSitePulse.
E-mail Servers - POP, POP3, IMAP, and SMTP protocols. The most common e-mail configurations use the POP3 protocol for e-mail retrieval and the SMTP protocol for sending e-mail. Monitor these protocols to make sure your mail servers function properly.
Download Servers - FTP (file transfer protocol). In most cases downloadable software or information files are provided by a FTP server on your site. To provide smooth and problem free downloads to your customers, make sure the FTP server is working properly.
Other Servers (DNS, Telnet) - We monitor DNS and Telnet servers at a protocol level. This means that we actually issue appropriate server commands and expect a standard response in order to verify proper operation of your server
Custom Ports - set up for monitoring any custom port on your server. You can add a custom port to monitor on your server to ensure that a specific service is running. With this service almost any TCP/IP-based service can be monitored.
Multiple monitoring servers and geographic locations - monitoring from multiple locations provides the web site manager and owner with a valuable and unique global perspective that can help to improve the overall quality of any web site. WebSitePulse currently has monitoring locations in the US and in Europe. Before alerting users of a problem, our system verifies the error with a secondary station. Therefore, users are notified only for problems that a company has control over and not for isolated Internet outages.
Problem Escalation - WebSitePulse sends notifications based upon the duration of the problem or outage.
Time to keep monitoring logs - currently we will keep the monitoring logs for not less than one month. Regularly this data will be deleted from our database and will not be available in your reports. Please notice that this applies only for the detailed monitoring data - all summary statistics (including the monthly uptime statistics) will be kept until you remove your account.
Extensive Online Reports - WebSitePulse generates real time reports and provides you with several reporting tools. Here are some of the available reports:
1. Daily Log
Shows the complete monitoring log for all checks made during a selected day.
2. Weekly log
